Health and Wellbeing

Our 2017 Health and Wellbeing Benefits of Swimming report emphasises the unique advantages of water-based exercise for individuals of all ages and abilities, especially those with long-term health conditions.

Drawing on this report, and findings from the Dementia Friendly Swimming project, the 'Water Wellbeing' model was developed.

This model incorporates essential components to provide an optimal experience for inactive individuals and those with long-term health conditions, encouraging them to become physically active in water.
