Enhancing Water Safety Skills in Learn to Swim Stages 1-7

The Swim England Water Safety Awards are complementary Awards available to learners who are undertaking the Learn to Swim Stages 1-7 of the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme.

There are three Water Safety Awards covering essential skills in water safety, personal survival and self-rescue. These are mapped to Learn to Swim Stages 3, 5 and 7.

Why should you deliver the Water Safety Awards as part of your lessons programme?

In the UK, approximately 400 accidental drownings occur annually, with 44% of victims drowning after unexpectedly falling into the water. The Water Safety Awards, developed in partnership with RLSS and RNLI, align with current water safety guidelines to promote self-rescue and safety skills.
